Taste Of Vietnam

It has been almost 2 years ago I had my first experience in Asia where we travelled to Vietnam and Thailand. So many of you have travelled to Vietnam and by popular demand, I am bringing back Taste of Vietnam as our final event of the year. The smell of the skewers grilling on the charcoal brazier and the aromas of the herbs and spices will take you right back to the streets of Saigon and Hanoi.
My garden is bursting with fresh herbs and vegetables so is a perfect time to host this event. You will be able to sample Vietnamese street food in a relaxed home environment along with flowing cocktails. There will also be mocktails for the non-drinkers. I can’t wait to take us down the memory lane of Vietnam and for those of you who have never been, this will be a taster of things to come when you make the trip to South East Asia in the hopefully near future. Come satisfy your Vietnamese cravings and join us for a night of fun sampling all the different dishes!

Winter is upon us and what a fantastic way to celebrate the season with a hearty British English menu. With my travels to Europe this year including two weeks in the UK,
I was inspired by the quality of flavours and varieties from local cuisine. After a long day spent visiting castles, countryside and experiencing true English culture we always found ourselves concluding the night at any traditional British pub!
Loving the food and how delicious it was, paired with pints and gins I enjoyed every minute of eating my way around.
So here it is, and what a perfect way to get together on a NZ winters night with my very first Taste of UK.
Arrival, Mulled wines, Gin and Tonic to start and selections of lovely beers or ales.

Just over a month ago I was able to explore my roots and travel back home to Asia. The Family and I travelled through Vietnam and Thailand indulging in the beautiful cuisine and culture. Vietnam had stolen my heart as the people were all so generous and the essence of the cities were more relaxed in comparison to Thailand’s fast pace lifestyle. The experiences we all shared for the family and myself were so warming that we are definitely going back!
Everywhere you look there’s always food and the produce available at the food markets were so overwhelming. Seafood, exotic fruits, fresh meats and herbs/spices filled the streets with an addictive aroma which is why I wanted to create the perfect menu to share my experience.
From my travels and experiences with food one thing that I can always agree on is that food brings people together therefore. I have curated a menu that I wish to illustrate the balance of seasoning producing a selection of dishes from Vietnam with my twist of course! on flavours. Spring is here and the herb garden is blooming so how could this not be the perfect time to invite you all to my next event.
The style of this event is a tasting of many dishes with gorgeous cocktails. There will be mock-tails as well for non-drinkers. And a charcoal grill stations to eat your way into the night.

We will teach you how to make our traditional Lao beef skewers served with a delicious dipping sauce along with Malaysia Chicken Laksa. We bring people around the table to share each other's hard work and enjoy your tasty creations.
Mastering your very own laksa paste, we will be hand making this from scratch.
